Black Hole in My Heart is my sophomore album. Though it is a singer-song writer album like my first (Oceans without Fishes), it has a different vibe, a riot of sound and not overtly political like the first. Black Hole in My Heart is a "dialectical" and bitter-sweet album which reflects the impermanence of joy, fun, love, life and exuberance of youth often superseded by profound sadness, contradictions, bewilderment, disappointment, despair and loss. Time does not heal all wounds and we are left with a black hole in our hearts.
That said: "Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" (Tennyson).
Black Hole in My Heart consists of a riot of sounds, where it takes you through a “dialectical” and bitter-sweet journey.
Pillion riding on your black Honda Motorbike ride to Havana
Your wind-swept hair whipping my face
Your sweet scent leaving me in a daze…
Spinning like a crazy top
Bopping till you nearly drop
Let me show you how to really hop
Spinning like a crazy top…
Perfume & branded bags I offer not
Just my heart which cannot be bought
Chanel No.19
Branded bags I’ve never seen…
Sheryl glided across the hall
I was smitten and enthralled
Dancing to the samba beat
I swept Sheryl off her feet…
You always take but never give
That’s not the life I choose to live
You thought you were too good for me
Things changed Oh can’t you see?
You blocked my sun with a cloud of arrows
A shower of darts; a rain of sorrows
Your words like razors hurled
Cutting me in a sunless world…
Life is too short Girl
To be angry for so long
I’m not yours forever
See the world in a grain of sand Hold infinity within your hand Sounds Zen and very grand Find it hard to understand…
